Here is another beautiful family who attended my mini-sessions in the fall! I’ve known Betsy ever since I took newborn photos for her daughter a few years ago, and then our sons became friends at our pre-school. Betsy is also a local photographer, and I was honored that she asked me to do family photos for her! They’re such a gorgeous family, and I really enjoyed capturing them! Fall Family Mini Sessions | RALEIGH DURHAM CHILD AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Well, a few years ago things here got really busy and crazy, and my schedule started filling up with family sessions and I’d find myself having to turn away newborn and maternity clients when my schedule was already booked up with big kids and families. And that really hurt my heart. My absolute first love in photography is babies, there’s just nothing else that compares for me, and I know it’s one of my callings in life.

So in order to really focus and devote my time and my schedule to what I love the most, I started turning away the family sessions, and took my business in the direction of all things baby — which has meant only maternity, newborns and baby’s first year. That decision has really been the best thing for me and my business, and I’m so glad I did it.

BUT, that has also meant turning away family sessions with clients who’ve gotten older and graduated from my Baby’s First Year plans, as well as turning away my friend’s families, and everyone else who has asked over the past few years for me to do family photos for them.

Well, this year I decided to add a new addition to my offerings. Seasonal mini sessions for families. They sold out VERY quickly for the fall, and I was so overwhelmed at the response! For those who missed them or didn’t get a slot, I plan to offer them at least twice a year, or maybe more depending on my schedule.

The next family mini sessions will be available in spring 2016. If you’d like to get on my mailing list and get first dibs at a family mini session spot, please email me at melissadevoephotography@gmail.com so I can add you!

I did TONS of mini sessions and I’m not sure the best way to blog ALL of these, so I figured showing a small sample would be best. Here is a very sweet family with their four kids. They were so much fun!

And yes, these were aaaaaaall from a MINI SESSION!! 🙂

Will’s Six Month Session | RALEIGH DURHAM BABY AND CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

I’ve so enjoyed seeing this family so much the last few years. Little Will is their youngest and is a part of my Baby’s First Year package, and he has just turned 6 months old. Connor is the oldest, and went through my Baby’s First Year package not all that long ago! So lucky me has gotten to see these boys a lot, and I love it! I can totally relate to their all-boy household, which means a lot of crazy antics for sure. Neither of them was super interested in being still for a photo, hehe. But hey, that’s how it is with little boys!! I love all the spirit these two have! 🙂

Will’s One-Year Session | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NC BABY CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

This handsome little dude is Will and he’s recently turned one year old! He’s graduating my Baby’s First Year plan, which always makes me a little sad. I’ve enjoyed seeing him so much during his first year, and watching him grow and change. From his itty bitty newborn stage, to sitting, and now walking aaaaall over! I swear once little boys learn they can walk, it’s not long until they’re running and exploring and we’re chasing them! I had so much fun capturing Will at his one year session. He’s such a happy, great little boy!

Michelle’s Maternity Session | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NC MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER

I had such a great time meeting Michelle and her husband, Joe, for their Raleigh maternity portraits. Michelle was absolutely glowing! We had a beautiful fall day with great weather, and we held their session at my favorite place in town, an absolutely stunning backdrop to go with how beautiful Michelle was! Their session was actually a couple of months ago (still behind on blogging!) and they’ve since had a healthy, amazing baby boy, who I’ll be excited to share lots of images of him from his newborn session in the near future! Here are the super sweet and lovely Michelle and Joe. 🙂

Twins Ellie and Taylor | RALEIGH DURHAM NC NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

I love newborn twins!!! These sweet little baby girls are Ellie and Taylor. Just two and a half weeks old for their photo session. They were such perfection! Gosh, I have the best job ever. Right?! I did several setups up of the girls together, and then lots of them separately as well. Here are some of my favorites from their newborn photo session!

Sydney | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

This beautiful baby girl is baby Sydney. I had the pleasure of meeting her and snuggling her when she was a teeny tiny ten days old. I really didn’t want to give her back! 🙂 She was such a gorgeous baby, and has beautiful parents as well! She let me do so many fun setups, and I very much enjoyed my time with her! It’s always hard to pick favorites, but here are some of mine from Sydney’s Raleigh newborn session!

Daniel | RALEIGH NC NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

This future little heartbreaker is baby Daniel! I met him and his sweet family at just 9 days old. His family is from Bermuda!!! They traveled here to Raleigh to have baby Daniel in the States, and stayed just long enough for a newborn session with me, before heading back home to Bermuda. It was such a blast meeting them. And I feel so lucky that I got to know them and photograph this special time in their lives. Baby Daniel is an absolutely stunning baby. So perfect and sweet!

Ellowyn | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

I was excited to meet this beautiful family for Ellowyn’s newborn portraits. Little Ellowyn has a big, loving family — even her grandpa and aunt tagged along for the fun. We had such a great time. The weather was perfect, so we got to take some really gorgeous outdoor newborn shots! They’re always my favorite! 🙂 Ellowyn’s Mommy and Aunt came with a lot of fun ideas for setups, so we had a fun time playing with her. And thankfully she obliged. She was one month old for her session, but was born really early so thankfully she was still nice and sleepy for her session. Here are some of my favorites from my time with her!

Gavin’s Six-Month Session | RALEIGH DURHAM NC BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

This precious little guy is Gavin and he’s a part of my Baby’s First Year package. I was so excited to see him and his sweet family again for another portrait session. You may remember Gavin from his amazing newborn session, and my has he changed!! He has the greatest little personality – so happy and curious. And it was so sweet to see how much his parents adore him. They are such a beautiful family, inside and out. I feel lucky to get to capture this time in their lives for them.
