North Carolina State Capitol
A few nights ago I visited the North Carolina State Capitol in Raleigh and brought along my camera.
This picture is for my Dad (I’m an Army brat). Go Army!

These are also for my Dad, who’s a Vietnam Vet. This is the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial outside of the Capitol.

Here’s the Capitol building after sunset. Beautiful, isn’t it?
CM Meetup
I recently joined an awesome photography forum called Clickin’ Moms, and it turns out there are a bunch of members from right here in Raleigh who are very talented photographers. We arranged a meetup last weekend at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham. We spent the evening taking lots of pictures, sharing ideas, and getting to know each other. Had a blast and can’t wait for our next meetup!

One of the women brought along their daughters – they were great models!

Group photo! I think this is an awesome shot!

The time is finally here! My website is up and running!

And many thanks to my CIO (you know who you are!) and thank you to my clients who are helping to make my business a success! I couldn’t do it without you all!
Outer Banks
Well, you know I can’t take a beach vacation without taking a LOT of pictures. Some of you have probably viewed my pictures on Facebook and other places already, but I also really want to share with everyone else.
It was my baby’s first time at the beach. He spent a lot of time examining the sand… and eating some too.

Those of you who have been to the Outer Banks have surely heard of the wild horses that often roam the beaches in Corolla. Fortunately, we saw them. What a gorgeous, gorgeous sight!

The sand dunes at Jockey’s Ridge State Park are amazing and a great spot for photos. We went and watched the sunset. BEAUTIFUL!

Here’s my hubby and I atop a sand dune.

This next one I pulled over on the side of the road to get out and take the picture. There were tons of interesting farms and things along the way. If I’d have stopped as often as I wanted, I’d have never made it home.

Many thanks to all the fabulous families I’ve photographed. I’ve met some amazing people and hope to see you all again soon!
The ‘K’ Kids
I had a blast spending the morning with the ‘K’ children in Raleigh. Benjamin is four and he’s so shy and sweet. He cuddled and hugged his sister so many times – he seemed to just adore her. And who wouldn’t? Two-year-old Sarah was all smiles (and silly faces) and she’s just precious. What a great family! Many thanks to their parents for choosing me to capture their images at these special ages. It’s one of the reasons I love being a child photographer – beautiful children like these!
NC Museum of Art
This weekend I took some pictures at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh. They have grounds that are open to the public and free to access. 160-something acres of awesome scenery. Art, ponds, bridges, paths, benches… the possibilities for great pictures are endless.

Jacob & Tyler
I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing these sweet little boys in Raleigh this past weekend. I’ve known this family for a while, and I was honored that they asked me to do their family pictures!
We had such a good time and the evening light was fantastic. Jacob is two and did a great job smiling for me once I learned the secret code for smile – “show your teeth!” Little Tyler is just four months old and he seemed like he’d rather nap than look at the camera. In fact, he fell right asleep while I was trying to take his picture. Oh, the life of a baby!
Thanks for the fun session, guys!
