Cute little baby Lila came to see me for her Raleigh Durham newborn photography session when she was two weeks old. This photo session was one of my newborn mini sessions, and for this one we opted for a variety of poses on a blanket. Lila was so perfect and let me work through a wrapped shot, froggy pose, taco pose, as well as a variation of the taco pose that I adore! I also got lots of cute close-ups of little Lila. She was super comfortable and relaxed during her Raleigh newborn photo session. I was so happy to meet her and celebrate her arrival into the world!

Raleigh Maternity and Baby Photographer

The next session I have to share today is with little Cecilia. Her mommy is another Raleigh maternity and baby photographer, and so I was of course very honored that she chose me to photograph her own sweet baby! It says a lot when other photographers choose you to capture their own families and the special moments in their lives. I was really thrilled!

This newborn photo session was one of my mini sessions, which is one hour in length. And Cecilia’s parents decided that instead of my traditional mini session with baby photos only, they wanted just family photos during our one-hour together. So we did this session filled with just family and sibling shots.

Cecilia was so precious, with the most amazing cheeks! And she had such a proud big brother who was so sweet and patient with her. This family really adores baby Cecilia, and I’m thrilled to have witnessed it and been able to capture this sweet stage in their lives.

Thank you for visiting my Durham baby photographer blog! Today I’m sharing a session with sweet baby boy Caden. He came into my Wake Forest baby studio for a newborn mini session. We got so many great shots of little Caden. I absolutely loved him in the green bucket from Hello Little Props. The green was just so stunning and perfect on him. And my other favorite setup with Caden was in the grey wrap, snuggling the little bear. How sweet is his little smile in the photo down below? I’m so happy I captured that cute baby smile! I always get so lucky with babies giving me grins during photo sessions. It feels like almost every session I get a smiling baby photo, and I love that so much!

Raleigh Newborn Mini Sessions

I’m sharing a peek at a mini session for this sweet baby girl! The newborn mini sessions have become so in demand in the last few years for every Raleigh baby photographer. So many people are wanting a short and sweet newborn session so they can have a few photos to share on social media or to make some birth announcements with. So I started offering Raleigh newborn mini sessions about a year ago, and they sell like hot cakes! A newborn mini session is one hour – which is not a lot of time when you’re trying to get a baby to sleep and posed. So I try to be efficient and get as much variety and different shots as possible. Some babies sleep like a dream and I can breeze through a lot of setups. Others are a little harder, but I can still always manage to get lots of angles and variety. I typically try for at least one prop shot, and then several of the sweet baby poses on a blanket. And of course lots of close-ups of the tiny details, like face, toes and hands, which are always some of my favorite shots. So here’s an example of what to expect at your newborn mini session!

Isn’t the name Zahra so cool?! It’s definitely my first baby with this name, and I love it because it’s so unique! I picture her someday as a total badass being successful and not taking crap from anyone! 🙂 Zahra was super wide awake for the beginning of our Raleigh newborn mini session, which was fine because the eye contact shots are just SO stunning and powerful to me! Zahra did eventually take a nice nap, though, and we got some really cute newborn sleepy poses too. Her hair is just AMAZING! So full and thick and fluffy. Pretty much dream hair for a baby! She is a total stunner!

Zahra’s session is my Raleigh newborn mini session, which is about one hour of shooting time for just baby. If you’re looking for parent shots too, that would be one of my larger packages. I got so many great shots of Zahra during her mini session. It’s the perfect amount of time to do a couple of different setups and a small variety of poses. Wake Forest’s Best Newborn Photographer

This is beautiful baby London! Her family opted for a newborn mini session, which is posed photos of just the baby alone. The mini sessions are roughly an hour and allow for a few different poses on a blanket, as well as posing in a prop (or two). Of course, these sessions are customized to each individual client’s requests. Baby girl London’s mommy wanted a photo of London in one of my tiny baby beds, and she also brought crystals that she wanted to be used with one of my crowns – you’ll see that photo below. It was a special photo for London’s mom. We used lots of girly pinks and creams for London, and we got a great variety in the hour we were together. London was sleepy and happy for her session, and was just so beautiful! I loved meeting this sweet baby girl!

I’ve had such a busy summer, and I’m currently booking Raleigh newborn, maternity, and baby’s first-year photo sessions for fall and winter 2021. And because I’ve had a lot of questions lately about COVID precautions, I’d love to fill you in on what I do in my studio to keep babies and their families safe from COVID. I’m fully vaccinated, as is everyone in my family who is at the age where they’re eligible to receive the vaccine. In between each session, my studio gets fully sanitized. My props are disinfected, my camera and work area are cleaned, as is the seating area where parents hang out during sessions. The first thing I do before touching a baby is to sanitize my hands, and I do it frequently throughout each session. I also wear a mask to protect my tiny clients from germs. I have a precious Raleigh baby photographer session to share that features a brand new baby boy posed on a variety of great shades of tans and greys. I love these neutrals for little boys, along with some pops of blues and greens. They’re my go-to for boy sessions! This little hunk was just under two weeks old for his Raleigh newborn photography mini session. He had a bit of a streak of being awake, but then dozed off and let me get the cute sleepy poses. I loved taking lots of close-up shots of this baby’s face, hands, feet, and lips. They’re often some of my favorites, and I find that families love hanging a collage featuring all of these tiny little details of their baby. You’ll also see a mix of color and black and white photos. I always offer both color and black and white versions of each photo I give clients! I love to try to get as much variety as I can, even for mini sessions. My clients are often amazed at how much we can get during just one hour. Wake Forest Fall Family Mini Sessions

Today I’m sharing another of the family sessions that I did this fall during my mini session events. In case you missed it, I offered fall family mini sessions this year. And I saw so many wonderful familiar faces! These mini sessions were 30 minutes of fun, and we got plenty of wonderful photos for my client’s holiday cards!

This family is one I did newborn photos for a while back! It feels like it’s been ages since I’ve seen them! Their girls have grown up so much, and they were adorable in their matching dresses and cute bows. We had gorgeous weather, and I loved seeing them and catching up!

Wake Forest and Youngsville Family Mini Sessions

I have a lot more lovely families I want to feature on the blog, so bear with me for aaaaall of the family mini session posts that are coming. The fall mini session events were such a huge success, and these families I’m sharing today were all so much fun!

This first family is near and dear to my heart because I’ve known the mom, Jill, for ages! Their little girl is such a ham, and so cooperative and fun to photograph. I can’t say enough good things about them!

And this next family I had the pleasure of seeing not too long ago for their son, Harrison’s, newborn portraits, which took place earlier this year. The older sister, Grace, was cooperative and beautiful for both sessions. Follow the link above to see them! Harrison is sitting up on his own now, and it won’t be too much longer before he’s chasing after his big sister! Their family is so adorable.

And last but not least for today, is another sweet family who I always love seeing. Harlowe also had her baby photos taken by me earlier this year, and it’s so fun to see how grown she is! And all of that beautiful hair she has now! She’s precious and has the sweetest personality. Big brother Hayden is an adoring big brother, and I love the photos of the two of them together.

Raleigh and Wake Forest Family Photography Mini Sessions

This fall I offered family mini photo sessions again! As you all know, my primary focus is usually on newborn baby photography, however I have on occasion offered some family session events from time to time. This fall felt like a good time to get back to that! I held the mini sessions at a gorgeous park in Raleigh, and the weather, the families, and the scenery were all amazing.

My family mini sessions are great for an updated family photo, some updated shots of your children, holiday card photos, or even as a Baby’s First Year session. They typically result in 15-20 digital files, plus black and white versions as well. They’re short and sweet, and as simple as can be!

This first family I want to share with you came to my mini session event the last time I held them. This year they brought along the grandparents, as well as their new dog. Their family portraits turned out so spectacular, I just love them!

And this next family just reminds me so much of my own family with their three boys. I just saw them last winter for the youngest child’s newborn portrait session. I enjoyed my time catching up with them, and seeing how blessed their lives are!
