I have a beautiful baby girl’s Knightdale Newborn Photographer session that I want to feature today! This sweet family requested purples and greens for their photo session. I’ve noticed an increase in requests for the color purple lately. I have to say I absolutely love the color purple on baby girls, and I get happy when I get requests for it. I usually always end up using more pink with baby girls, which is pretty too. But I do love some variety!

I’m always happy to use a lot of color in newborn photo sessions. We can coordinate setups to match the colors of the rooms in your home where you plan to display your art. For example, if you plan to hang the newborn portraits in baby’s nursery, we can use pops of color that match the colors of the nursery. Or a living room, entry way, etc.

Prior to every Raleigh Knightdale newborn photography session, I always ask your color preferences. Neutrals always look amazing. But so do colors! So feel free to give that some thought prior to your newborn photo session.

Did you know that the best time to book your Raleigh newborn baby photo session is two to three months prior to your due date? This is to ensure that you receive a slot in our busy calendar! A lot of expecting moms put this on their to-do list while pregnant and research their photographer ahead of time. Sometimes people are even booking their newborn photo sessions 5-6 months prior to their due date! So please don’t delay, as it’s never too soon to reach out and get this item crossed off your list.

Now, if you’re busy and not a plan-ahead type of person, we totally understand this! There’s a lot to think of while you’re expecting, and maybe booking a Raleigh newborn baby photographer isn’t high on the priority list. Please don’t fret if you’ve waited until after the baby is born. Due dates can be very unpredictable, and it’s not unusual for there to be weeks that are slower than others. Sweet baby Penelope came into my Wake Forest newborn photo studio for a Mini Session! We did a few beautiful setups in purple, which was Mom’s request, as well as some pretty pink. This next tiny little peanut came to see me in January for her Raleigh newborn photographer session. She was soooo itty bitty – most of my headbands and hats had to be adjusted for her tiny head. We did newborn photos of her with her big brother and sister, and they each wanted turns holding her. I think this baby girl is going to be very loved on as she grows older. Her older siblings were so adoring of her! I loved her family photos, as well as her detailed close-up photos of her sweet toes, lips, and lashes. I have such a cutie to show you all today! This handsome baby boy is Oliver, and he came into the Wake Forest baby photo studio for a mini session! The mini sessions are one hour of shooting time, and allow us to get a small sampling of poses and prop photos, all at a discounted price.

Newborn Photographer Chapel Hill | Baby Girl Laney

Today I want to share some of the beautiful newborn portraits from baby girl Laney’s photo session, and I’m also going to cover some helpful items you’ll need to bring to your baby’s newborn photo session.

Baby Laney was so adorable and perfect for her Chapel Hill newborn photo session. Wait until you see her beautiful eyelashes, and stunning skin! Her mama requested jewel tones like ruby red. I love getting to use these gorgeous colors for newborn photos! They were such a nice complement to Laney’s skin tones. I just love the variety of props and poses that I was able to achieve for baby Laney’s portraits!

For those planning their baby’s newborn photography session, there are a few things that are so essential in helping this run smoothly. First, I always request parents bring along a pacifier, even if their baby hasn’t used one yet. Babies have a natural sucking reflex, and it helps to soothe and relax them. It’s SO important in soothing babies into those cute little poses! And second, a way to feed baby is necessary while you’re in the newborn photo studio. For those moms who aren’t nursing, please bring along a bottle. Often we do have to pause partway through a photo session for baby to feed, since they eat so often!

Other than these items, I have everything else we’ll need! I always keep a full supply of diapers, wipes, burp cloths, snacks for hungry moms… it’s all provided! 🙂

Wake Forest Newborn Photographer | Baby Girl Madelyn

I met baby Madelyn right before Christmas, and loved our Wake Forest newborn photo session together. We got some adorable photos of her with Mom and Dad, and some precious prop shots (see the one of her snuggling the little bear!), several sweet sleepy poses on the blankets, and some detail shots of her perfect little face, eyelashes, and toes.

Madelyn’s family opted for my “keepsake” newborn photo session option, which is an hour and a half of posing and photographing the baby in my Wake Forest baby photo studio. This session allows us time for a few family photos, with focus still on the baby’s photos. In the keepsake sessions, I also aim for a couple of different baby props, and some of the snuggly little sleeping poses on the blanket. I always switch out hats and headbands, and get lots of angles in each pose as well. So this gives us some variety and covers the main bases that most people want. For the most variety, I recommend the “full” newborn photo session option, which is two hours of time together, and we can get a lot more photos with just a little extra time added on.

Durham Baby Photographer | Newborn Baby Girl Love

Today we’re sharing another newborn “mini” photo session in Melissa’s Wake Forest photo studio. This cute baby girl is named Love! Such a unique and fitting name for her, as she is so very loved by her sweet parents! She was a precious little angel for her Raleigh newborn photo session. She looked so beautiful in all the pinks, purples, and creams!

This baby girl’s mama followed all of Melissa’s tips to get baby Love sleepy before her photo session, and she also came with a belly full of milk. So baby Love slept peacefully while Melissa worked through a lot of different props and sleepy poses. We managed to get so much variety in this one-hour mini portrait session! She looked adorable in the bucket, the wooden bowl, and in the little nakey poses on the blanket!
