Family Mini-Sessions | RALEIGH NC CHILD AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Here is another beautiful family who attended my mini-sessions in the fall! I’ve known Betsy ever since I took newborn photos for her daughter a few years ago, and then our sons became friends at our pre-school. Betsy is also a local photographer, and I was honored that she asked me to do family photos for her! They’re such a gorgeous family, and I really enjoyed capturing them! Fall Family Mini Sessions | RALEIGH DURHAM CHILD AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Well, a few years ago things here got really busy and crazy, and my schedule started filling up with family sessions and I’d find myself having to turn away newborn and maternity clients when my schedule was already booked up with big kids and families. And that really hurt my heart. My absolute first love in photography is babies, there’s just nothing else that compares for me, and I know it’s one of my callings in life.

So in order to really focus and devote my time and my schedule to what I love the most, I started turning away the family sessions, and took my business in the direction of all things baby — which has meant only maternity, newborns and baby’s first year. That decision has really been the best thing for me and my business, and I’m so glad I did it.

BUT, that has also meant turning away family sessions with clients who’ve gotten older and graduated from my Baby’s First Year plans, as well as turning away my friend’s families, and everyone else who has asked over the past few years for me to do family photos for them.

Well, this year I decided to add a new addition to my offerings. Seasonal mini sessions for families. They sold out VERY quickly for the fall, and I was so overwhelmed at the response! For those who missed them or didn’t get a slot, I plan to offer them at least twice a year, or maybe more depending on my schedule.

I did TONS of mini sessions and I’m not sure the best way to blog ALL of these, so I figured showing a small sample would be best. Here is a very sweet family with their four kids. They were so much fun!

Will’s Six Month Session | RALEIGH DURHAM BABY AND CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

I’ve so enjoyed seeing this family so much the last few years. Little Will is their youngest and is a part of my Baby’s First Year package, and he has just turned 6 months old. Connor is the oldest, and went through my Baby’s First Year package not all that long ago! So lucky me has gotten to see these boys a lot, and I love it! I can totally relate to their all-boy household, which means a lot of crazy antics for sure. Neither of them was super interested in being still for a photo, hehe. But hey, that’s how it is with little boys!! I love all the spirit these two have! 🙂

2012 Year In Review | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NEWBORN BABY CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

Each year I try to set aside some time to create a compilation of my favorite photos from each session I had that year. It was really fun to go back through and remember my favorites! I picked one photo from each family I met this year — there are sessions I’ve promised not to share, for privacy reasons, but the ones you see below are all of my favorites from those I blogged about this year. I owe a big thank you to each of the families I met this year – you’ve all been so amazing to share your lives with me, and I’m blessed to call you my friends. I watched quite a few of your babies grow up this year, and it was an honor!

Coming up in 2013, I plan to get caught up on my blogging from all my fall sessions, and I have an extremely packed calendar for January, so I’m eager to get some new sweet babies on this blog! Happy New Year, everyone!

Baby Joshua | Raleigh Durham Newborn Photographer

Last month I had the pleasure of meeting sweet little Joshua when he was just 10 days old. He was one of the models at the newborn workshop I attended in Durham with Keri Meyers. He couldn’t have been more perfect for us – he was our little holiday model and ended up with all of our cute Christmas set-ups. I loooove how they turned out!!

I’ve had a few other newborn sessions this past month that I’m behind on blogging. I’m hoping to get caught up on them soon!!

The White Family | Raleigh Family Holiday Mini Sessions

The lovely White family were participants in this year’s holiday mini-sessions in Raleigh. We picked the PERFECT weekend. The leaves were at their peak and were just beginning to fall from the trees. We went to a popular Raleigh park but did the photos in a little hidden area that we had all to ourselves. It was beautiful! And the Christmas cards we created with their images are AMAZING!

Tyson and Marco | Raleigh Durham Child & Family Photographer

I’m excited to share this session of one of my very favorite families! I think it’s safe to say they’ve been my best clients since I started my business. I owe them a big thank you! They’re a super duper awesome family and I’m lucky to have them in my life. And their photos pretty much rock – I don’t know how they’re going to choose what to put on their holiday cards. 🙂

This next picture totally cracks me up. I think it pretty much sums up Tyson’s wonderful spirit!

Holiday Mini Session Information | Raleigh Durham Family Photographer

Once a year I hold holiday mini-sessions that are just perfect for getting an updated family photo or for getting your holiday card photos done. This year I’m holding these sessions on two dates – Saturday, October 29th in Raleigh, and Saturday, November 12th in Wake Forest. Both locations are favorites among my clients.

This year two package options are available. Both offer high resolution digital files at a SIGNIFICANT savings. The higher package provides you with custom designed holiday cards. I have a huge selection of adorable cards – all are high end, 5×7 double sided cards. You won’t be disappointed!

Roxy | Raleigh Family Photographer

I recently had the pleasure of photographing my friend Morgan, her husband Mike, and their dog — the famous Roxy! Morgan had really been wanting some new photos of the three of them, so she brought them along to my recent photogra-friend meetup and we got it done for her!
