Next up is the sweet and gorgeous M family, who I first met when I photographed little James as a newborn! Handsome little James was right about to be a big brother at his mini-session, as you can see! And lucky me got to meet that cute little addition just a few weeks after their family session. I swear I have the best job!! These guys are just too adorable and so sweet!

This adorable family is the P family, and they attended my fall family mini sessions! Their little guy, Camden, is five months old, and I was lucky enough to shoot his newborn photos. I was excited to see him again. He is so adorable! And such a happy, smiley, perfect baby! We had a great time, and I can’t wait to see him as he gets older! Another lovely family to share with you all today! I’ve known the G family for what seems like forever. 🙂 And they were one of the first families I photographed 6 years ago when I started my photography business. I’ve known Betsy ever since I took newborn photos for her daughter a few years ago, and then our sons became friends at our pre-school. Betsy is also a local photographer, and I was honored that she asked me to do family photos for her! They’re such a gorgeous family, and I really enjoyed capturing them! Fall Family Mini Sessions | RALEIGH DURHAM CHILD AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Well, a few years ago things here got really busy and crazy, and my schedule started filling up with family sessions and I’d find myself having to turn away newborn and maternity clients when my schedule was already booked up with big kids and families. And that really hurt my heart. My absolute first love in photography is babies, there’s just nothing else that compares for me, and I know it’s one of my callings in life.

So in order to really focus and devote my time and my schedule to what I love the most, I started turning away the family sessions, and took my business in the direction of all things baby — which has meant only maternity, newborns and baby’s first year. That decision has really been the best thing for me and my business, and I’m so glad I did it.

BUT, that has also meant turning away family sessions with clients who’ve gotten older and graduated from my Baby’s First Year plans, as well as turning away my friend’s families, and everyone else who has asked over the past few years for me to do family photos for them.

Well, this year I decided to add a new addition to my offerings. Seasonal mini sessions for families. They sold out VERY quickly for the fall, and I was so overwhelmed at the response! For those who missed them or didn’t get a slot, I plan to offer them at least twice a year, or maybe more depending on my schedule.

I did TONS of mini sessions and I’m not sure the best way to blog ALL of these, so I figured showing a small sample would be best. Here is a very sweet family with their four kids. They were so much fun!

Will’s Six Month Session | RALEIGH DURHAM BABY AND CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

I’ve so enjoyed seeing this family so much the last few years. Little Will is their youngest and is a part of my Baby’s First Year package, and he has just turned 6 months old. Connor is the oldest, and went through my Baby’s First Year package not all that long ago! So lucky me has gotten to see these boys a lot, and I love it! I can totally relate to their all-boy household, which means a lot of crazy antics for sure. Neither of them was super interested in being still for a photo, hehe. But hey, that’s how it is with little boys!! I love all the spirit these two have! 🙂

Gavin’s Six-Month Session | RALEIGH DURHAM NC BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

This precious little guy is Gavin and he’s a part of my Baby’s First Year package. I was so excited to see him and his sweet family again for another portrait session. You may remember Gavin from his amazing newborn session, and my has he changed!! He has the greatest little personality – so happy and curious. And it was so sweet to see how much his parents adore him. They are such a beautiful family, inside and out. I feel lucky to get to capture this time in their lives for them. Tate | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NEWBORN CHILD AND BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

The adorable little Tate was just 4 months old for his fall session. He has one of the sweetest families I’ve ever met. Not to mention gorgeous! They really are a stunning family. 2012 Year In Review | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NEWBORN BABY CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

Each year I try to set aside some time to create a compilation of my favorite photos from each session I had that year. It was really fun to go back through and remember my favorites! I picked one photo from each family I met this year — there are sessions I’ve promised not to share, for privacy reasons, but the ones you see below are all of my favorites from those I blogged about this year. I owe a big thank you to each of the families I met this year – you’ve all been so amazing to share your lives with me, and I’m blessed to call you my friends. I watched quite a few of your babies grow up this year, and it was an honor!

Coming up in 2013, I plan to get caught up on my blogging from all my fall sessions, and I have an extremely packed calendar for January, so I’m eager to get some new sweet babies on this blog! Happy New Year, everyone!

Dinkins Family | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NEWBORN BABY CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

You’ve no doubt seen this family on my blog before, a few times. 🙂 And if you’ve missed them, here’s little Cooper at eight months old and here he is at his newborn photos. And some maternity photos of Lindsay are here and here. I was very excited to take some updated family photos and individual photos of the kids for their holiday cards. And now that the cards have been mailed, I can finally post the photos! Lindsay already has a big canvas picture of their family hanging in her living room! Such a gorgeous family! We even came indoors for some to-die-for photos of them in their Christmas jammies!!!! LOVE THEM!
