Here is the totally stunning Kelly and Kurt, who I photographed back in August for their maternity session. We met in Wake Forest for their session and had beautiful backdrops for this special time in their lives! I LOVED their session and had so very many favorites. It was a blessing we held their session when we did, because Kelly was put on bed rest practically the next day, and had her gorgeous little baby very shortly afterwards (don’t worry, you’ll be seeing pictures of her soon too!). I had the pleasure of meeting sweet little Charlotte (Carly) when she was just 11 days old. She was teeny tiny! I had met her parents prior to this at their maternity session — Charlotte’s Mommy is the gorgeous one who graced my blog very recently. Sorry it’s been so quiet around here lately! My family and I made the big move into our new home a couple of weeks ago. AND, we got picked to film an episode of House Hunters for HGTV! Talk about a whirlwind month this has been. We had so much fun with the first round of filming, and they’ll be back next week to finish up. Our house is coming together and we’re getting pretty organized and settled in. My NEW STUDIO space is completely amazing, and I have a few little things to finish up before it’s ‘ready’! I’ll be sure to post pics when I have everything finished!

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of photographing three ‘big’ kids — which is rare for me! And wow, what a great time we had. These kids are gorgeous and clearly enjoy each other’s company! Here’s a few of my favorites from their session!

Alexander | Raleigh Wake Forest Newborn Baby Photographer

Adorable little Alexander was nine days old for his photography debut. He actually made me work a ton for these photos — he was bright eyed most of the morning that I was with him. But after a lot of soothing he took a few cat naps! He sure was cute and I completely enjoyed the time I was with him!

Alexander’s Daddy is a hockey fan, so we surprised him and incorporated a pair of hockey skates into the pictures. I think they’re totally adorable!

I was so incredibly excited to meet identical twins Max and Mason, born on the 4th of July. They were SO SO tiny! They each weighed in at a little less than five pounds at the time of our session. They were a dream to photograph and just so incredibly precious!

Learning | Raleigh Wake Forest Newborn Baby Photographer

I am personally the type of person who loves to learn, especially when it comes to things I’m passionate about. Working in an industry where styles and trends are constantly changing, I made a decision some time ago to invest in my professional growth as much as I could. Once or twice a year I’ve been traveling the country to be taught by the photography industry’s very best. Last month I traveled to Omaha to meet the industry leaders in newborn photography. They were amazing to watch and learn from and I came away with new tips and tricks to take my newborn photography to a whole new level.

As many of you know, earlier this year I decided to specialize in newborn and baby photography. I moved away from weddings completely, and now only take a very limited number of family sessions. Newborn photography is what speaks to me, and it’s what I strive to excel at. I love everything about it. And with my new knowledge, I hope to continue to provide beautiful portraits and snuggle with your beautiful babies! Below is a sampling of some photos I took during my trip – I met three gorgeous brand new baby girls and there were some amazing set-ups!

Beau | Raleigh Wake Forest Newborn Baby Photographer

Sweet little Beau is the baby brother to my little friend Palmer. He was 15 days old on the day of his session and soooo super laid back. I just adore this family and am so excited they’re a part of my Baby’s First Year Plan so I get to see Beau grow up this year!

This next photo was made extra special by the antique scale. Big brother Palmer was photographed in it as a newborn!
