This next tiny little peanut came to see me in January for her Raleigh newborn photographer session. She was soooo itty bitty – most of my headbands and hats had to be adjusted for her tiny head. We did newborn photos of her with her big brother and sister, and they each wanted turns holding her. I think this baby girl is going to be very loved on as she grows older. Her older siblings were so adoring of her! I loved her family photos, as well as her detailed close-up photos of her sweet toes, lips, and lashes. This baby girl is absolute perfection – as you’ll see below!

Oh what a sweet one I have to share with you today! I was so happy to be chosen as this sweet family’s Durham baby photographer. Little baby Josephine was such a darling. So beautiful, and an excellent sleeper!

We managed to work through several family photos, as well as lots of cute sleepy blanket poses, and some adorable baby props as well! Just look how precious she looked in everything – both pops of colors and some neutrals too. Everything looked so great on baby Josphine. Her newborn baby photo session was a total success!

Newborn Photographer Chapel Hill | Baby Girl Laney

Today I want to share some of the beautiful newborn portraits from baby girl Laney’s photo session, and I’m also going to cover some helpful items you’ll need to bring to your baby’s newborn photo session.

Baby Laney was so adorable and perfect for her Chapel Hill newborn photo session. Wait until you see her beautiful eyelashes, and stunning skin! Her mama requested jewel tones like ruby red. I love getting to use these gorgeous colors for newborn photos! They were such a nice complement to Laney’s skin tones. I just love the variety of props and poses that I was able to achieve for baby Laney’s portraits!

For those planning their baby’s newborn photography session, there are a few things that are so essential in helping this run smoothly. First, I always request parents bring along a pacifier, even if their baby hasn’t used one yet. Babies have a natural sucking reflex, and it helps to soothe and relax them. It’s SO important in soothing babies into those cute little poses! And second, a way to feed baby is necessary while you’re in the newborn photo studio. For those moms who aren’t nursing, please bring along a bottle. Often we do have to pause partway through a photo session for baby to feed, since they eat so often!

Other than these items, I have everything else we’ll need! I always keep a full supply of diapers, wipes, burp cloths, snacks for hungry moms… it’s all provided! 🙂

Wake Forest Newborn Photographer | Baby Girl Madelyn

I met baby Madelyn right before Christmas, and loved our Wake Forest newborn photo session together. We got some adorable photos of her with Mom and Dad, and some precious prop shots (see the one of her snuggling the little bear!), several sweet sleepy poses on the blankets, and some detail shots of her perfect little face, eyelashes, and toes.

Madelyn’s family opted for my “keepsake” newborn photo session option, which is an hour and a half of posing and photographing the baby in my Wake Forest baby photo studio. This session allows us time for a few family photos, with focus still on the baby’s photos. In the keepsake sessions, I also aim for a couple of different baby props, and some of the snuggly little sleeping poses on the blanket. I always switch out hats and headbands, and get lots of angles in each pose as well. So this gives us some variety and covers the main bases that most people want. For the most variety, I recommend the “full” newborn photo session option, which is two hours of time together, and we can get a lot more photos with just a little extra time added on.

I’m so delighted to introduce you all to baby William, who came in for his Wake Forest newborn photographer session at 13 days old! We did the Keepsake newborn session for little William and his parents. They wanted some family photos with their newborn session, so they decided my 90-minute keepsake newborn session was the best fit for them.

As you can see below, William’s family is just adorable. We got the most beautiful family photos during their baby session, and I just absolutely adore how they turned out. And precious little William posed so nice and sweetly for me. We got so many beautiful portraits to remember this stage in William’s life. And I really loved all of the close-up shots of his baby face and baby toes! So sweet!

William’s parents brought along a baby blanket that they wanted to be photographed with him. It was so beautiful – grey with little sheep. So I incorporated the blanket into some of his baby photos and I know they’re really special shots for his parents.

Raleigh Baby Girl Photos

I’m excited to share some Raleigh baby girl photos with you all today! Cute little Madeline came in to see me when she was about three weeks old. She is an absolutely stunning newborn girl, and you’ll understand why when you see her beautiful mother! Baby Madeline has dark, thick hair, and such perfect little features.

Now Madeline wasn’t super interested in sleeping for very much of her session, which happens! 🙂 I got a lot of amazing shots with her eyes open, and she did drift off from time to time when I had her wrapped up. Of course, being wide awake happens occasionally, although it’s surprisingly rare. Most babies spend their days sleeping and content, unless hungry or cold, or some other bigger underlying reason. So babies who aren’t sleepy truly don’t happen very often for me. With that said, parents always love the images I get with their baby’s eyes open, so in some cases, it’s a blessing when they can be alert during a session.

Madeline’s session is my Keepsake newborn session. I included some family images at the beginning of their Raleigh newborn session, and then did a couple of poses of Madeline on a blanket, as well as a couple of prop shots. Her newborn photos were beautiful!

Family and Baby Photos Raleigh

The very adorable baby Will was such a delight for his Raleigh family and baby photos. He has two very sweet and excited big sisters, and I suspect they’ll take great care of him throughout the years! They seemed like they were very happy to have a baby boy to dote on! And who can blame them?!

Will’s family selected my Keepsake newborn session package. This selection gives them a 90-minute session and provides both family and baby photographs. The big sisters were so sweet while holding their baby brother for their sibling photos. And the family photos were just too beautiful. They’re a very gorgeous family!

Baby Will posed perfectly in the “froggy” and “taco” poses. I also loved him snuggled up with the teddy bear in some great baby-in-a-bucket shots! And of course, the little detail shots of his eyelashes and toes are always some of my favorites. Sweet little Will was so perfect in my Wake Forest baby studio. Beautiful Raleigh Newborn Photography Session

I’m happy to share Raleigh newborn baby girl Ainara’s photo session with you all today! She has such a unique name, and I love it. Her mom and dad requested neutrals and yellows for her, so you’ll see a lot of that below. She was just such a beautiful baby. She was awake for a good while at the beginning of her session, so I opted for some swaddle shots of her until she finally fell asleep. Then she let me pose her very sweetly, and I just love the taco pose and the pose with her little toes peeking out. COVID Precautions in my Newborn Studio

The number one question I get lately is regarding COVID protocol in my studio, and I want to continue addressing this on my blog to give everyone current information! In my Raleigh newborn photography studio, all props, equipment and seating areas are disinfected in between each baby photo session. I clean my hands very frequently during sessions (I go through a lot of hand sanitizer!). I also wear a mask during newborn photo sessions to keep from spreading germs. And most importantly, I’m covid vaccinated! If you have any further questions or need accommodations, please reach out!

Raleigh Newborn Photography | Baby Boy Henry

Raleigh Newborn Photography

This cute baby boy is named Henry and he came in to see me for his Raleigh newborn photography session when he was 16 days old! He was so tiny, with long arms and legs (he’s going to be tall like his parents!) and just as cute as can be. I love the awake shots I got of Henry. He was nice enough to be awake for some eyes open shots – which parents always love – and then asleep for a good stretch for some awesome posing. So cooperative!

Henry’s session was my Keepsake newborn session. The keepsake session is my 90-minute session. It’s essentially a mini session with some bonus extra time to get another setup, or to get some parent shots. It’s not quite as much variety as the original session, where we can fit in plenty of poses and props, but it’s perfect for those who are looking for a smaller amount of photos. I’m sharing a baby girl today that is super stunning! The photos almost speak for themselves, but she is just perfect in every way. The hair, the lashes, the beautiful skin… all perfect! This family opted for my Keepsake newborn session package. The keepsake package allows for a couple of family photos, as well as some photos of baby alone. We usually end up with roughly 20 photos, and some black and whites are always included as well. This family wanted me to use my baby bed prop (it’s been requested so much lately!), and preferred a lot of props over very many blanket shots. So we got a beautiful variety, and I adore all of the photos! The family shots are so special, and I think her parents will treasure these. She was such a cooperative and happy little girl. I feel so lucky that this family chose me to capture these memories!
