Newborn Photographer Raleigh NC | Baby Mia

I have a beautiful newborn baby girl to share on the blog today.  This is little Mia… don’t you love her name?  Mia’s parents opted for my newborn mini photo session, which is roughly one hour of shooting, and gives us plenty of time to capture everything precious and cute about a newborn.  These shortened photo sessions permit us to capture about 15 or so photos, sometimes more depending on how sleepy and easy to pose the baby is.  The minis give us time for baby’s photos only, so if you’re looking for family or sibling photos, you’ll have to upgrade to the full session.  The minis are great for those on a budget too, or for those who enjoy digital files from their sessions, since these mini sessions include the digital files.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about my mini newborn photo sessions!

Baby Mia was super sleepy and sweet for me.  She looks like a precious little angel snuggled up in my tiny baby bed.  I just love that bed photo!  And of course the ones of her snuggling the pink bear are amongst my favorite too.  She was just wonderful — her parents are so blessed with this beautiful baby!  Here are my favorites from her Raleigh newborn mini photo session!

Baby Sutton | RALEIGH DURHAM NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Oh sweet little Sutton.  What a gorgeous name for a gorgeous baby!  Sutton’s mommy opted for a mini newborn session – which is my newest session offering.  One hour of as many poses as we can squeeze in!  Little Sutton cooperated so nicely and we got SO many great photos.  Yes, aaaaall of these poses (and even a bunch more than shown here) were from a mini newborn session. I find that I can usually over deliver on these sessions as long as the baby is kept awake a little before the session, and arrives with a full belly.  Then they’ll sleep so soundly for the hour, and we can get in lots of setups.  Sutton’s mommy sure delivered – she was out like a light!  If you’d like more info on a mini newborn session, please reach out!  I love doing these.

FALL FAMILY MINI SESSIONS | THE N FAMILY | RALEIGH DURHAM NC CHILD AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

I had such a blast with the N family, who attended my fall family mini-sessions.  For those not familiar with my mini-sessions, they’re shortened sessions perfect for an updated family photo or new pictures of your children.  I hold them in the fall, and if you’re interested in being the first to know when they’re announced each year, please send me an e-mail and I’ll add you to my mailing list!  But back to the sweet N family!!  Their two girls are so hilarious and full of life!  I absolutely loved meeting this family and capturing some new photos for them.  They couldn’t be any more perfect!

This is another family who came out to my fall mini-session event. Sweet little Isabella is two now, and did my Baby’s First Year package back when she was itty bitty!  I was so excited to see her again, and she really hasn’t changed much.  Still super cute and fun!  I really adore this family, and I love getting to capture them!

This adorable family is the P family, and they attended my fall family mini sessions! Fall Family Mini Sessions | RALEIGH DURHAM CHILD AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Well, a few years ago things here got really busy and crazy, and my schedule started filling up with family sessions and I’d find myself having to turn away newborn and maternity clients when my schedule was already booked up with big kids and families.  And that really hurt my heart.  My absolute first love in photography is babies, there’s just nothing else that compares for me, and I know it’s one of my callings in life.

So in order to really focus and devote my time and my schedule to what I love the most, I started turning away the family sessions, and took my business in the direction of all things baby — which has meant only maternity, newborns and baby’s first year.  That decision has really been the best thing for me and my business, and I’m so glad I did it.

BUT, that has also meant turning away family sessions with clients who’ve gotten older and graduated from my Baby’s First Year plans, as well as turning away my friend’s families, and everyone else who has asked over the past few years for me to do family photos for them.

Well, this year I decided to add a new addition to my offerings.  Seasonal mini sessions for families.  They sold out VERY quickly for the fall, and I was so overwhelmed at the response!  For those who missed them or didn’t get a slot, I plan to offer them at least twice a year, or maybe more depending on my schedule.

The next family mini sessions will be available in spring 2016.  If you’d like to get on my mailing list and get first dibs at a family mini session spot, please email me at melissadevoephotography@gmail.com so I can add you!

I did TONS of mini sessions and I’m not sure the best way to blog ALL of these, so I figured showing a small sample would be best.  Here is a very sweet family with their four kids.  They were so much fun!

And yes, these were aaaaaaall from a MINI SESSION!!  🙂
