From amazing hair to sleepy smiles, see why this little guy’s session was a highlight in the Wake Forest newborn photography gallery taken by Melissa Devoe.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming sweet baby Bryson and his parents into the studio. They made the drive from their home in Louisburg, NC, to see us for their Wake Forest newborn photography session.

It was an absolute delight to have them in the studio. While we love meeting families from right here in Wake Forest, we are always honored when families travel from surrounding areas like Louisburg to trust us with their precious cargo.

The Perfect Little Sleeper

Bryson was an absolute dream to photograph. He arrived ready to sleep, allowing us to move through numerous poses and setups seamlessly. Because he was such a peaceful sleeper, we were able to capture incredible variety for his gallery.

When a newborn sleeps soundly, it allows me, as your trusted Wake Forest newborn photographer, to focus on the intricate details of posing, ensuring tiny fingers and toes are perfectly placed while maintaining maximum comfort and safety.

Showcasing Amazing Hair (No Hats Required!)

One of the first things we noticed about Bryson was his incredible head of hair. It is not often a newborn comes in with such a full, styled look right from birth!

His mom agreed that his hair was too precious to cover up. While we love a cute newborn bonnet, we made a conscious effort to keep the hats off for the majority of the session. We wanted to put that amazing hair on full display. This gave his final gallery a very natural, organic feel that highlighted just how unique he is.

Calming Blues and Neutrals

For the color palette, Bryson’s mom requested a combination of blues and neutrals. This is one of our favorite combinations for newborn photography because it is timeless, soothing, and fits perfectly in most modern homes.

We utilized soft creams, textured grays, and various shades of dusty blue. These colors provided a beautiful contrast to his skin tone and kept the focus entirely on Bryson’s delicate features.

Capturing Sleepy Smiles

While the goal of every session is a sleeping baby, we always hope for those fleeting “angel smiles.” These happen when a baby enters REM sleep, and their facial muscles relax.

We were lucky enough to capture a few of these precious grins during Bryson’s session. Those milliseconds when a baby smiles are some of the most cherished images for parents, and we are thrilled we caught them for this family.
