RALEIGH NC BABY PHOTOGRAPHER | Baby Zoya

I hope everyone’s New Year is off to a great start! I had such a fabulous 2018, snuggling so many babies, and meeting so many great families. I can’t wait to see what 2019 will have in store for me!

Today’s featured baby from Melissa DeVoe Photography is little Zoya, who came in for her session when she was just 13 days old! She was such a unique newborn, with absolutely beautiful skin, and she was my first ever baby whose head was shaved after birth for religious purposes. I love meeting people from all different walks of life through this job!

We did some breathtaking family photos and sibling photos during Zoya’s session. Her two big brothers are so adoring, and her entire family is stunning! Zoya’s daddy wanted some bright, bold shots of baby Zoya, and he personally picked out the red blanket from my prop collection. I have every color you can imagine, so I love when the parents request specific colors or setups that they know they’ll love. And red isn’t a color I use very often with my newborn sessions, so it was nice to go against the norm and do something different. And wow, Zoya was absolutely precious on that red blanket snuggling the white pillow!!! Melted my heart.

Baby Piper | RALEIGH DURHAM NC NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Little baby Piper was the second baby I’ve photographed for this family, and I was elated to see them again and meet their newest little one! I adore the name Piper – such a cute choice of name. And I believe this is the first baby named Piper I’ve ever photographed! Piper’s session was so amazing. She was so sleepy and curly, and we created some beautiful art for her family.

Baby Sutton | RALEIGH DURHAM NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Oh sweet little Sutton. What a gorgeous name for a gorgeous baby! Sutton’s mommy opted for a mini newborn session – which is my newest session offering. One hour of as many poses as we can squeeze in! Little Sutton cooperated so nicely and we got SO many great photos. Yes, aaaaall of these poses (and even a bunch more than shown here) were from a mini newborn session. I find that I can usually over deliver on these sessions as long as the baby is kept awake a little before the session, and arrives with a full belly. Then they’ll sleep so soundly for the hour, and we can get in lots of setups. Sutton’s mommy sure delivered – she was out like a light! Baby Will | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

Sweet little baby Will is the second baby I’ve photographed for this lovely family. I was so happy for them – adding another little one to their clan. I met little Will when he was just seven days old. How lucky am I that I get to encounter these babies so fresh and new to the world? I truly love it! Will was tiny and adorable, and so fun to pose. I loved catching up with his Mommy, and was happy that she shared him with me. I wouldn’t mind if they just go ahead and have another. 😉

Baby Lochlan | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

I have a stunning family full of little boys to share with you today! Their boy’s ages and their family dynamic is so similar to mine, it just blew my mind! They were a family of five, with three boys with unique personalities, who are loved so much. It was really sweet to see. We got some great photos of all three boys that I found so sweet and touching. And of course lots of great photos of little Lochlan by himself. This family just melted my heart! Baby Jase | RALEIGH DURHAM NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

Baby Jase was such a tiny one for being 14 days old. He was so sleepy and cute too! I had met his Mommy a few times before, so I was excited to see her and catch up with her! I’m excited for her on this journey into motherhood. Tiring, but so rewarding! And for Jase’s newborn session, she requested red, which isn’t a color I use very often, so it was fun to switch things up. And I really loved the red! I think it’s just so stunning.

I wanted to also mention that I’ve started offering a newborn “mini” session. I get asked SO often by parents to just take a few photos, but my full newborn sessions are usually 3 hours of shooting, plus lots of setups and props and variety. So I figured I’d give a try to something just a little shorter and it’s working really well so far. The mini sessions are one hour long, and I can usually fit in one prop setup (in a bucket, basket, etc.), along with a few poses on a blanket. And then there are lots of different angles, lots of different hats switched out, wraps switched out, etc. so we can still get some variety. And these sessions result in about 15 photos (or more). For now I’m trying it out as an all-inclusive session – where you pay a certain price and it includes a download of all of the digital files. Baby Rico | RALEIGH DURHAM NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

I’m excited to share with you all my newborn session with baby Rico! Don’t you just love the name Rico? It’s adorable, and fits him so well! I met Rico when he was an itty bitty two weeks old. He has THREE big sisters, who obviously just adore him! I can only imagine how much they’re going to love on him and take care of him throughout his life! He’s very lucky! And can we just discuss Rico’s cheeks for a second?! Check them out for yourself – they’re perfectly plump and kissable. I’m sure his mom enjoys planting some kisses on those! I used some greens and blues for him, and they just looked fabulous on his perfect, creamy skin! Rico was so sweet at his session, and I enjoyed spending time with him and his family. Baby Cooper | RALEIGH NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

Another baby boy to share with you all! Soooo many baby boys lately! This is little Cooper at just nine days old. He is the third baby I’ve photographed for this family. They’ve had two girls, and have now finally added a baby boy to the mix! His mommy has had to go from pink everything to blue this time around! It really means a lot to me to have families coming back to me again and again as they expand. I love to meet the new additions and to see how the older kids have grown. Little Cooper looks a lot like his older sisters did as newborns.

One of my favorite things about Cooper was his crazy amazing dimples when he’d flash a smile. I mean, they don’t even look real, they’re just too much! I loved them. And seeing how adored he was by his big sisters was just so sweet. You may notice we did a lot of wrapped shots on Cooper, because it was the only way he was happy during his session. He just likes to be snuggled all the time! And his pictures are just way too cute, so it was all good! Here’s all of my favorites from baby Cooper’s newborn session in Wake Forest, NC.

Baby Emmett | RALEIGH WAKE FOREST BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

Baby boy Emmett was so much fun to meet and work with! We did his session back in November, so we incorporated a few Christmas shots for their Christmas cards. I had been really looking forward to meeting baby Emmett and his family! He was a rainbow baby – a baby born after a loss. So we paid tribute to his big sister during the session with a few rainbow themed photos. This was such a special family, and a special session. Emmett did really great, and let me get all the shots (and more) that we wanted during his Raleigh newborn session. He was a joy!

Baby Speros | BEST RALEIGH BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

I have a sweet baby boy to share with you all today! His name is Speros, which is a family name, and is SO different and neat. He had a really GREAT photo session! Speros was nine days old when I met him and was a great little sleeper and poser. I absolutely loved him on that dark blue, one of my favorite colors for boys. This sweet baby boy’s parents got in for a few shots as well, and they were so adorable. Parent shots are always included in newborn sessions at no extra charge.
